Arrivals weekend 2026/7
Students joining the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø in September 2026 will arrive over Arrivals Weekend, which will take place from Friday 18 September to Sunday 20 September 2026.
ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø is a small and busy city with two universities. The roads around town and the campus will be busy over arrivals weekend, so allow time for delays.
You will have an allotted date and time to arrive and a key collection point, depending on your accommodation building. You will also be told which car park to use if you are arriving by car. Find out your arrival details .
Your arrivals time may differ from your contract start date. This is to manage the large number of students arriving into our accommodation, and to ensure the best arrivals experience. Each household has a timeslot, so you will be arriving with your housemates.
Calm arrivals are available to undergraduate students who have been allocated quiet accommodation. Calm Arrivals is an optional early move-in opportunity for students who would benefit from a quieter, more relaxed arrival experience.
Arriving to your accommodation

your key collection point is Polden Commons with parking available in the West Car Park.
This collection point is open between 9am until 4pm on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 September. Outside of these hours and from Sunday 20 September, you will need to visit the West Accommodation Centre

your key collection point is the East Building with parking available in East Car Park.
This collection point is open between 9am until 4pm on Friday 18, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September. Outside of these hours, and from Monday 21 September you will need to visit the East Accommodation Centre
Arriving out of hours
If you arrive outside of reception opening hours, contact the Security team on +44 (0)1225 385349 on arrival and they will help you to collect your keys.
Parking on campus
Arrival weekend parking
Parking on campus for arrivals weekend is limited to a maximum of 2 hours and is monitored via an ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) system. If your vehicle remains on campus beyond this time, you will need to move it off-site. Failure to do so may result in a parking fine being issued.

Getting ready to come to University

Your library card
Your library card is your official proof of ID on campus. You can use it to get access to buildings.
Before you leave home, you need to register online and upload a photo of yourself for your library card. We will then be able to create your card so it's ready for you to use when you get here.
What to bring, what not to bring
We recommend that you bring a minimal amount of belongings. There are plenty of places to shop once you arrive in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. Supermarkets like Sainsbury’s stock a range of homeware items, and you can also use the Click & Collect service from Argos, located inside. Primark, in the city centre, offers affordable home essentials.
Don’t forget to check out our second-hand sale during arrivals, where you can pick up kitchenware, clothes airers, coat hangers, and more at great prices.
If you're ordering online, you can have items delivered to the Amazon Locker 'BOSON', conveniently located just next to the exit of Fresh store on campus.
